Your e-portfolios will soon be sent out to assessors, having randomly looked through some of your evidence pieces I have notice that some of you have uploaded Microsoft word with ‘black image boxes’ covering confidential information. Although I appreciate that you have considered maintaining confidentiality, I can easily move the ‘black image boxes’ to see the confidential information.
Could I ask all candidates to review their evidence pieces for confidential information and ensure confidentially it is maintained (unless permission has been sought). Those you who have used a black marker then scanned the document are fine as I could not see the information below it.
If you want to use ‘black image boxes’ to cover information please ensure your word documents are saved as pdf files in your e-portfolio or take a final screen shot or snippet of your evidence and save as a picture in your word document.
See examples below:
Original word document with simple ‘black image boxes’ covering confidential information that can be moved (after clicking ‘enable editing) - confidential information can now be be seen!
Word document saved as PDF document - confidential information cannot be seen.
Word document with image shot of evidence instead of ‘black image box’ covering confidential information - confidential information cannot be seen.
This should not take you too long,
Some of you may have noticed that some of your evidence pieces have changed from word to PDF documents in your e-portfolio – these are the random ones I had noticed.
