May I take this opportunity to provide you with an update regarding your external assessment.
As you know due to the current pandemic, we are unable to undertake external assessments (of both portfolios of evidence and work based practical assessments) in the normal manner and time frames.
As previously stated, to continue the progression of your external assessment we have agreed to review your e-portfolios now that we have received all your confirmations. External e-portfolio assessments will be carried out as soon as reasonably practicable; we rely on assessors who also work in mortuaries to voluntarily carry out assessments on our behalf, and as you know are extremely busy in the current climate.
External practical observation assessments will only take pace when a number of other conditions have also been met. These will include a reduction in current workloads for us all and government easing of lockdown protocols. As such I cannot offer anyone any guarantees of when this will take place but I will update you as soon as I have anything more constructive to add.
To maintain objectivity and integrity of the qualification we cannot use assessors or experienced APT’s who have directly been involved in the candidates training or who work in the same department.
As this new process has been agreed by North Tees and the RSPH this will undoubtedly result in a delay for you receiving your RSPH level 3 qualifications. I must emphasise that staff safety, our service users safety and the prevention of the spread of the virus between trusts and organisations is of paramount importance.
If any of you have any ongoing concerns of queries then please contact myself in the first instance and again could I please ask that all candidates be patient during these difficult times for us all.
